Titel: Packaging of snus rolls with a collaborative robot
Beskrivning: In recent years, automation has become increasingly important, not just for high-volume factories, but also for smaller producers looking to stay competitive. However, many small and medium-sized companies still rely on manual labor for repetitive tasks due to high costs and lack of flexible solutions.
This thesis explores the development of a cost-efficient, and fully automated packaging station for snus rolls built around a collaborative robot, designed in collaboration with Odigo Smart Factory. The goal has been to create a standardized automation concept that lowers the threshold for small-scale snus manufacturers to integrate robotics into their production.

Titel: Industrial Door Tracks of the Future
Beskrivning: The door tracks for the industrial doors at ASSA ABLOY have remained the same for over 60 years. The purpose of this thesis is to propose a new design for the vertical track set, focusing on reducing material usage while maintaining current levels of strength and robustness.

Titel: Designing a removable hinged plastic lid for improved recyclability
Beskrivning: As the world is moving towards more sustainable solutions and increased recyclability, GPI Systems wants to find new innovative ways to make their packaging more environmentally friendly. While many customers are not very keen to replace the plastic lids, a removable plastic lid is of high interest. This thesis seeks to design a removable hinged plastic lid for GPI’s Cekacan packaging platform that can be separated from the paper packaging. The challenge lies in creating a lid that meets recyclability goals while maintaining functionality, manufacturability, and consumer appeal. The lid must align with current production capabilities and consumer expectations as well as meet additional requirements from GPI Systems.

Titel: The development of a foldable roof box
Beskrivning: Traditional hard-shell roof boxes provide valuable extra storage when traveling by car, but are often bulky, heavy and difficult to store when not in use. This project focuses on the development of a foldable roof box that combines elements of both soft and hard goods. Through user research, concept generation and prototyping a solution was created to offer a lighter, more compact alternative that is easier to handle, mount, and store.

Titel: Development of Method and Device for Roller Surface Geometry Measurements
Beskrivning: How can a roller be measured more effectively using a new concept based on triangulating lasers to improve usability?
Tetra Pak needs a new, more reliable method for measuring industrial rollers, as the current device presents usability and transportation issues. This thesis explores several concept solutions, focusing primarily on the measuring method and the sensor placements. The development process led to four measurement concepts being simulated and tested in a Tetra Pak production environment, with a big emphasis on developing a concept that reaches the accuracy needed to detect and measure wear of industrial rollers.

Titel: Topology Optimization for Sustainable Speaker Design
Beskrivning: IKEA of Sweden aims to use only renewable materials by 2030. As part of this goal, this thesis focuses on reducing the use of fossil-based plastic in their speaker enclosures by using topology optimization. The objective of the thesis has been to identify whether topology optimization could be an effective method to reduce the material usage in speakers while maintaining their acoustic performance. The study is based on a detailed analysis of an existing speaker model, using simulations and design tools to explore sustainable design improvements.
