09.00 – "Magic Tree: Development of a technology mediating multi-sensory musical instrument"

Most humans are somehow affected by music. It connects us over all kinds of physical and mental borders. The MISK-project, Musik, Interaktiv, Sinnesstimulering och Kvalitét, is using music pedagogics as a way to teach and interact with children and young adults with different types of physical and intellectual disabilities. MISK is a collaboration between Certec at LTH, Furuboda folkhögskola and Eldorado Resurscenter in Göteborg. The aim of this project, as part of the MISK-project, is to build a new type of musical instruments, exploring new sensor and interaction types to enable and inspire  more users to play music together in new creative ways, regardless of their disabilities. The instrument developed during this project is using capacitive sensors controlled by an Arduino, and takes the shape of a tree branch that is playing music when it's hanging lights are being touched.

10.00 – "Design and Development of a Foldable Motorized Micro-Haulage Vehicle"

The transportation industry stands as a significant contributor to greenhouse emissions. As a result, many efforts are being made to lower these emissions and reach sustainability goals, hence why many transportation companies are shifting to electric options. At the same time, urban spaces in cities are becoming more congested which have environmental and social consequences. In response to congestion, infrastructural changes are being made, such as limiting personal traffic within certain areas and dedicated pedestrian-bike paths. With these goals and changes in mind, new or alternative modes of transport are required for a more sustainable future. The aim of the project is to develop a conceptual vehicle that can encourage walking and aid users in personal haulage activities. To fulfill requirements and enhance practicality, additive manufacturing and topology optimization has been utilized to reduce the weight of the vehicle.

11.00 – "Konceptstudie och dimensionering av handledsfunktionalitet för en materialhanteringsrobot"

Trots att automatisering av materialhantering i logistikbranschen har byggts ut kontinuerligt så sker fortfarande mycket av hanteringen vid exempelvis orderplock manuellt. Först på senare år har logistikbranschen börjat automatiseras med industrirobotar. Introduktionen av E-handel och dess stora tillväxt är en av de drivande faktorerna i denna utveckling. Examensarbetet går ut på att göra en konceptstudie och dimensionering av en handled och verktyg till en unik och snabb materialhanteringsrobot. Målet är att utöka och bredda robotens funktionalitet.

13.00 – "Motivating Generosity: Investigating Persuasive Strategies for Increasing Clothing Donations to Charitable Causes"

Today, the textile industry in Sweden is responsible for up to 1800 tonnes of textile waste per year: a poor use of resources that results in a negative environmental impact. There is an evident need for a more sustainable approach. At the same time, the popularity of secondhand clothes shopping is steadily increasing among the Swedish population, especially with younger individuals. This creates an interesting opportunity for a service that connects key actors in the clothing industry: e-retailers, consumers, and charities. This thesis explores interactive concepts of such a service; a platform that simplifies the consumers’ process of donating clothes to charity.
