The manufacturing industry faces several new challenges that are shaping how future products are developed. Sustainability and resource use have long been growing in importance in product development. At the same time, products need to function well for the user and provide a positive experience. Rapid digital development has also meant that artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly significant role in how new products are created.

In this course, you will be introduced to these issues and have the opportunity to develop a critical and reflective approach to the challenges facing the manufacturing industry, both today and in the future. You will also design your own project in which you test various AI engines against your objectives and performance requirements.
